Visual inspections and functional tests

Visual inspections and functional tests

The devices must be inspected once annually by professionally trained experts, in order to ensure that the devices and accessories remain in safe condition.
The inspection must be conducted at shorter intervals in case of harsh conditions.
The inspections are primarily visual inspections and functional tests, whereby the condition of the components with respect to damage, wear, corrosion or other changes must be assessed and the safety equipment must be checked to ensure it is all present and effective
It may be necessary to disassemble wear parts in order to inspect them.
Generally, the test load used to test the lifting, pulling, and lowering functions should be the same as the rated load. Repairs may only be carried out by authorised specialist companies, using original Safetex replacement parts.
Inspections must be initiated by the device owner, and are noted in the operating manual.
The inspections are confirmed by a current inspection mark and test report.
